In Minnesota where there is still snow on the ground, it is time to start growing flowers inside. Every year I do at least some to get that head start for the year. Keeping it simple this year, just coleus and morning glories. Oh and some ornamental mini gourds and mini pumpkins. Ahhh… springtime on the farm.

  1. Morning glories are an horrific weed in my neck of the woods so I have to remind myself that some people actually plant them! I know there are different types but I have such a visceral response to them that kicks in before my brain does!
    Looking forward to spring flowers!

    • Come on… where are those pretty vine flowers called weeds?… HA.. I also have a few perennial vines that flower as well. Clamatis, etc. Thanks for stopping by Bean, good luck in your show this weekend.

  2. Hey Plex,

Come on down south…we can throw the seeds in the ground. Well, actually the true gardeners start their plants early, too. I used to; I have this 4 shelf thing with grow lights and it work fantastic for starting early flowers. But…I pretty much filled the garden with perienials and now it sits abandoned.
Spring has started in Georgia. Lots blooming…camellias, weeping cherry, daffodils, and several types of Japanese magnolias. Spring will be up your way very soon.
    Enjoyed the blog,

    • Skip dude! My sister migrated south to GA a long time back. She was rural, now lives in a northern suburb of Atlanta called Alpharetta, ever here of it? I’m going to be down there in June for her daughter Grad party. Y’all! I lived in Louisiana with my family for a year, 93-94. My wife did an internship at a state hospital down there, and the put us all up during it. I am somewhat knowledgeable of the south. Also, I been to Savannah a few times on business. In Louisiana though, I was never let forget I was a visiting “Yankee”… ;) .

  3. That sounds wonderful, I’m not ready to think about gardening stuff yet. I love Coleus ;)

    • I LOVE that gravatar of yours Anita!
Thanks for the comment. Working the yard is not a thing I dread, but a time of enjoyment for me. ‘Cept now it will take me away from my bloggin no doubt, well maybe not, I usually do this after dark.
      Rock on girl!

  4. Ah, I remember the days when gardening used to be fun. Of course that was before moving to Southwest Florida, LOL. Here, the only time of the year the weather is pleasant enough to garden, one is cautioned not to prune anything because of the remote possibility of a frost barreling down from the North…and this year, we had one too!

Oh well, if I can’t garden, I can always blog. ;)
